Doorbell Letters
To support our letter/sound study, we have two doorbells in the room. Every time we go to the bathroom or leave the classroom...we ring the doorbell by high-fiving the letter and saying the sound. For example, "A, /a/, apple" The children LOVE it and it is just another hands-on way of reinforcing word work!!! If you would like to use them at home the file is below!

Our First doorbell of the year is Mr. Smiley. You will be hearing a lot about him. He is the Handwriting Without Tears mascot. We will be high five-ing Mr. Smiley with our RIGHT hand every time we leave the room. It is a very tactile way of reinforcing our "rights" and our "lefts"!!!! And....it's fun!!!

Poetry Notebooks
During Shared Reading we have learned many songs and poems. They help us with our fluency, word study and rhyming skills. The notebook stays in our Book Buckets for us to reread our favorites over and over again, reinforcing our phonological awareness!!! Here are our favorites!!!
