Ask me all about my reading! During Reader’s Workshop we shared our Just Right Books with our First Grade friends. We showed them how we hold the books carefully, how we point to each word with our finger, and how we look for known words on the page. What fun!!!
Ask me all about the Warm Fuzzy Jar!!! We filled it by working together and helping each other. To celebrate, we spent time in the Computer Lab visiting the links off our class website. Now we know how to get to them from home!
Ask me what a "small moment" is. In Writer's Workshop, we are collecting stories about special moments we have had in our lives. We have also been sharing many stories where the authors describe one "small moment" throughout a whole book to make it feel important. How cool!
Ask me all about taking a picture walk! Today we looked closely at Cookie's Week, by Cindy Ward. We got our minds ready to read by picture walking the big book first. Cookie the kitten is so silly!!!
Ask me all about the first Thanksgiving! We have been reading books and poems about the Pilgrims and their Native American friends. How is your Thanksgiving just like theirs?
Ask me all about the Harvest of Dreams Garden! We helped Mrs. Wright, our wellness teacher, close the garden up for Winter. The whole school worked for 10 minutes at the end of recess, pulling up dried plants and weeds. Now it can rest until Spring!!!
