Ask me all about the holiday gift we received from the Friends of Warren School!  They funded the beginning of our new Warren School Maker Space!  Today we got together as a school to celebrate and say thanks!  We created, we built, we painted, we drew, we wrote...and we did it all together!
What a wonderful community!

Ask me all about our Gymnastics Show!!!  We have been working very hard in PE.  We have been learning how to use the gymnastics equipment and how to follow special directions.  Take a look at all of our hard work!!!

Ask me all about speaking French!!  Mrs. Brodhead has been visiting with us every week.  She is teaching us how to speak in another language!!!  Today we counted to 10, we learned how to say Mom and Dad, and we read a VERY silly story!!!!  French is so much fun!!!

But inside it's so delightful!!!
Ask me all about the fine motor art project we did today!  This morning we put out a bucket and collected some freezing cold raindrops!!!  It was almost full when we brought it in this afternoon!
Before we painted, we made snowflake rubbings and then painted over the snowflakes with our raindrop water colors!!  Check them out in the hallway...They are beautiful!!!  

Ask me all about our special visitor today!  The Friends of Warren School brought a wonderful speaker named Chris Poulos to our school.  He is an internationally known trick-bike rider with a BIG message!  He talked to us about friendship, respect, inclusion, and making good choices.  It was so fun!!!

Ask me all about spaces!  Writers use spaces to separate their words.  We noticed that when our words are not "smushed" together, it makes it easier to read!  
Today we tried using "finger spaces" between our words!  We even got to use a giant "finger space" on the Smart Board!

Ask me all about our new math game!  It is called "Making 10 Together"  We have to work carefully with a math partner... following directions, counting, and filling a tens frame.  It is hard work!!!!  Our class was racing to see who could collect the most cubes! 
In this math unit we will be focusing more on the number 10 and we can't wait!

Ask me all about my writing!  We have been looking at our writing from the perspective of the reader.  It has been very interesting.  We have been looking closely at writing samples.  We have been noticing things that make writing HARD to read and things that make writing EASY to read.  We have been creating a HUGE chart on our Smartboard to use as a reference when we write.  
Today we reread some of our own pieces, looking for ways that we could improve them.  We worked SO hard!!!
