Ask me all about The Secret Garden, by Frances Hodgson Burnett!!! It is our new read aloud and we love it!!! It is about a little girl named Mary who finds herself living in a brand new place with lots to explore.
We have been doing a character study on our new friend Mary. We find her interesting because she is not a very nice girl. We have been charting her behavior and we noticed that she is starting to change!!!
Yesterday she found the key and opened the door into the garden that has been locked for ten years!!! We love this book so much that we built our own Secret Garden in our classroom. This morning we all got a chance to curl up in it and read. How cool!!!
